Appointment of a new headteacher
On Thursday, 22nd October three candidates from the eight who applied were interviewed at the school. The interviews were conducted by a group of school governors together with two advisers from County Hall. The interviews were a well-planned and extensive process; including the candidates taking a school assembly, being interviewed by the School Council, having to make a presentation, panel interviews on different themes plus full interviews in the afternoon. The process was concluded just before 7pm.
After due consideration the position was offered to Mr John Ronane, subject to the normal checks, from January 10. Mr Ronane has been teaching for over 12 years, at 3 schools in London, Harrow and Hertfordshire. He is currently a Deputy Headteacher and is teaching a class of Year 6 pupils. Mr Ronane has taught most of the primary age groups including reception. He has also worked alongside teachers from other countries through Comenius projects and at an International School in France. He has also led residential visits, including some abroad.
Mr Ronane has many interests. He enjoys many sports including rugby, football, horse riding and cricket.
I have every reason to believe that Mr Ronane will prove to be an excellent new headteacher for the school. I have been in touch with him and we are planning for him to visit the school before the end of term.
