Ickford PE and Sports

County Champions 2017

We regard Physical Education as very important at Ickford and endeavour to provide every child with high quality lessons within the curriculum so that they can all enjoy activity, appreciate and learn about the benefits to a healthy lifestyle and develop their techniques in order to become skilful participants.

We also have a range of extra-curricular clubs that give the children more opportunity to take part in their choice of sport or dance and we ensure that we provide opportunities to compete against other schools throughout the academic year. We compete at Level 1 in a Sports Partnership made up of several schools and have also competed at Level 2 and Level 3 according to the success of our teams. We also arrange fixtures against other schools in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire and further afield when possible. For a small village school with approximately 130 children on the role, we are proud of our success in a variety of competitions.

Although we receive a small amount of funding through the PE Premium, we spend a great deal more than this ensuring that quality of provision is outstanding and also that the children have a plentiful supply of proper equipment. Follow the link below to see how we spend our PE premium:
